Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali is going to miss the remaining matches of the 2021 Pakistan Super League (PSL). The 26-year-old pacer has decided to opt out of the competition due to personal reasons. Hasan Ali has been brilliant with the ball for Islamabad United in the ongoing Pakistan Super League. In the six matches that he has played, the pacer was their leading wicket-taker. He picked up 10 wickets and also bowled at an economy rate of 5.83. This shows that he picked up wickets for the team and kept a check on the run-scoring. Before leaving the tournament, the 26-year-old also expressed gratitude to his team for supporting him through the difficult times.
Talking about Hasan Ali's international career, he has picked up 188 international wickets in five years. The young pacer was instrumental in Pakistan’s Champions Trophy win back in 2017. In that competition, he bagged the Player of the Tournament award.
Islamabad United are second in the points table
The captain of United, Shadab Khan, stated that Hasan Ali’s departure is going to be a massive blow for the franchise. The United are next going to play against the Lahore Qalandars, which is led by Sohail Akhtar. The match is going to take place on Sunday, June 13, at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Lahore Qalandars are presently the table-toppers in the Pakistan Super League's sixth season. They will be aiming to continue their winning streak in the 20th match of the league against confident Islamabad United. With eight points from six games, Islamabad United are second in the points table.
In their last match, Islamabad United defeated the Quetta Gladiators by 10 wickets with 10 overs to spare. Colin Munro’s unbeaten 36-ball 90 with 12 boundaries and five sixes took the team over the finishing line. Islamabad United are the most successful team in the history of the Pakistan Super League. They are the only team to have won the tournament twice. The franchise also holds the record for the highest team total, which was 238/3 against Lahore.
