The incident involving Jonny Bairstow and Alex Carey during the second Ashes Test at Lord's has split the cricket world. After dodging a short ball from Cameron Green, Carey stumped Bairstow as he strolled out of his crease. Many argue that Australia skipper Pat Cummins should have called Bairstow back to uphold the spirit of the game, while others believe he had no reason to since Australians were within their rights to uphold the appeal.

Surprisingly, the debate carried over to the Indian locker room as well. Ravichandran Ashwin, an Indian off-spinner, told about how the Indian coach became embroiled in the dispute while having an hour-long conversation with the bartender and waiter on the Caribbean Islands. West Indies are in trouble after the end of Day 1 after getting bundled out for 150.

They spoke about rules, the spirit of cricket: Ravichandran Ashwin

Ashwin has now stated that India head coach Rahul Dravid had a lengthy conversation with a bartender and a waiter in the West Indies over the events at Lord's earlier this month. He stated on his youtube channel, "The other day, we were sitting on a beach, and Rahul bhai bought me a lemon juice. He had a one-hour discussion with the bartender and waiter on whether Jonny Bairstow was out or not. They spoke about rules, the spirit of cricket, and everything in their discussion."

The off-spinner also stated that an "old man" at the bar, in his local accent, suggested that the officials made the right decision by ruling Bairstow out. "They are all so passionate. Then suddenly an old man came and declared, 'He Bairstow maan, he out maan!." Notably, the 36-year-old has played in 92 Test matches for India, taking 474 wickets.

In the past, he has struggled in the West Indies, taking 17 wickets in four matches. Ravichandran Ashwin, India's finest off-spinner, returned with 5/60, his 33rd five-wicket haul and fourth against the West Indies, as the hosts crumbled less than half an hour after tea. In the process, Ashwin became the third Indian spinner to reach 700 International wickets across all forms.

On Day 1 of the first Test in Dominica, the Indian spin combo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja shared eight wickets between them to enable the Rohit Sharma-led side to bowl out the West Indies for 150.
