Former Indian opener turned commentator, Aakash Chopra has come up with a shocking statement while talking about the former Indian skipper and the batting superstar, Virat Kohli. Chopra made a comment on the "fab-4" in modern-day cricket and said that Virat Kohli is no more a part of the elite list.
"Virat Kohli, Joe Root, Steve Smith and Kane Williamson were a sure shot 'Fab Four' at one point. In fact, even David Warner's name was present on that list. We are talking about Test cricket. We are talking about the period between 2014 and 2019. But we don't have a 'Fab Four' now, only a 'Fab Three',” said Aakash Chopra in a video on his YouTube channel.
This statement from Chopra drew a lot of contrasting reactions on social media. The cricket fans immediately took to Twitter and came up with different opinions and responses to this statement on Virat Kohli’s stature from the fab-4.
Here’s how fans reacted:
I think he will be back in form soon

He is GOAT in all Formats.... Don't talk about single format. A player who manages 3 formats then he is the real player that's virat 😎... One format doesn't define what he is (virat)

Furthermore, Aakash Chopra also spoke about the performances of Virat Kohli from 2014 to 2019. He also mentioned Virat’s downfall in international cricket for 3 years.
"If we talk about Virat Kohli's performances between 2014 and 2019, he played 62 matches and scored 5695 runs at an average of 58.71 with the help of 22 centuries. Kohli was unstoppable. There was a home season where he scored four double-centuries. He was absolutely brilliant,” said Chopra.
"Virat Kohli's numbers have plummeted. He has played 25 matches - 1277 runs, which does not suit him. He has an average of 29.69 and he has scored just one century overall, which came against Australia on the Ahmedabad ground. David Warner - 23 matches, 1250 runs, an average of 32.89. He has two centuries in that, including a big one. I feel at this point in time, as things stand now, Warner and Kohli are not part of the 'Fab Four'," he added later.
