Virat Kohli has been on the radar of fans for a long time now as he awaits his 71st century. Although he has not been in a run drought, he has been in a century drought for over two years now. He has had some good performances and half-centuries but hasn't been able to convert them. In the recent pink-ball Test against Sri Lanka, he was dismissed twice in a similar manner.

These two wickets became a talking point as it is not very common for Kohli to get out consecutively in this way. His childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma, also has some suggestions for his mentee. He suggested that Kohli will have to come back to his basics and said that he can visit his old academy as it gives him a lot of confidence playing there.

While talking on Khelneeti’s Youtube channel, Rajkumar said, "Virat will need to come back to his basics. I would definitely want him to come back to the academy. I was thinking about this from yesterday and I am going to talk to him. The kind of confidence that he gets batting in the academy, he needs it."

Rajkumar was also of the opinion that Kohli was being too cautious, despite playing a good game. He said that Kohli needs to play a bit more freely and take some bigger chances in the match.

"He is batting really well but unfortunately, he is batting too cautiously. If starts to bat a bit more freely, like he has his entire career then soon he will be back to his best. On such wickets, you need to take more chances like Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer did," he said.

Kohli will next play in the Indian T20 League 2022 for Bangalore. They begin their campaign on the 27th of March at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.
