England are currently busy playing the three-match Test series in Pakistan. After a long gap of 17 years, they came to Pakistan for this series and managed to seal the series by winning the first two matches. Now, they will face the home side again on 17 December in the third and last match in Karachi.
However, James Anderson has played a vital role in this series so far for Ben Stokes and his men. On 15 December 2022, this veteran pacer completed 20 years in international cricket. But, now, the former Pakistan cricketer, Kamran Akmal came up with an epic dig at the Pakistan Cricket Board regarding their behaviour with old players.
"Thank God James Anderson is not from Pakistan.” - Kamran Akmal
While speaking on his YouTube channel, Kamran Akmal said: "Thank God Jimmy Anderson is not from Pakistan. He would have been thrown out of the team long ago, citing his age as the reason. The other teams think about their country. However, we do not have such a system. We don't think about the country but about individuals. Once a player gets old, we think of ways to remove him from the team.”
"Everyone is going to talk about Saud Shakeel's controversial dismissal, but nobody will talk about the performances. Nobody is going to talk about national selectors or the state of Pakistan's domestic cricket," Akmal added. Speaking about James Anderson, he has played 177 Test matches for the Three Lions so far. In these matches, he has taken 675 wickets in different conditions.
Speaking about the ongoing Test series, James Anderson has taken eight wickets so far in four innings at an economy of 2.20. His performance was crucial for two historical wins in Rawalpindi and Multan respectively. In the Rawalpindi Test, Anderson took four wickets for 36 runs in 24 overs in the second innings of Pakistan. So, England will look for another good performance from this veteran pacer in the upcoming match of the series.
