Indian Cricket Board honorary secretary Jay Shah has turned a year old today. He has been the secretary of the board since late 2019. The 33-year-old is also the president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Not many readers might know this but his efforts led to the successful staging of Asia Cup 2022. Also, he once aspired to be a cricketer and trained under former Gujarat Cricket Team coach Jayendra Sehgal.

He owns multiple business houses and started as an executive member of the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA). Four years later, he was elected as the joint secretary of the GCA. Only two years later, he joined the Indian Cricket Board as a member of the finance and marketing committee. In 2019 he stepped down from the GCA post after being elected as the secretary of the Indian Cricket Board.

Recently, he and Sourav Ganguly have managed to convince the Supreme Court to change the constitution of the board imposed by the Supreme Court. It said that the office bearers had to go on a cooling-off period after serving the first term of three years. Meanwhile, he has been wished by several cricketers as he turns 33.
