Cristiano Ronaldo, the Manchester United striker, is one of the greatest footballers of all time. Fresh reports claim that the Portuguese striker is currently suffering from depression, amid transfer speculation and a reported rift with United manager Erik ten Hag.

It is speculated that Ronaldo may be suffering from depression and that to cope, he recently consulted Canadian clinical psychologist Jordan Peterson. The pair met two weeks ago while the Portuguese striker was in the UK, and the footballer posted a photo of himself standing next to Peterson. "Nice to see you my friend #seeyousoon," Ronaldo captioned his Instagram post.

Ronaldo is competing in UEFA's second-tier competition for the first time since leaving Sporting. In his most recent interview with Piers Morgan Uncensored, Petersen discussed his meeting with the footballer and revealed that he had some problems in his life a few months ago, so he came to see Petersen.

"He invited me to come and see him. He'd had some trouble in his life a few months ago and a friend of his sent him some of my videos and he said he'd watched those. Then he read one of my books and found it helpful, he wanted to talk," Peterson said.

He also revealed that he went to Ronaldo's house and spoke with him about the future and some of the issues that the United striker is dealing with in his life. "I went out to his house, and we talked for about two hours. He showed me all his equipment for staying in tip-top condition, we talked about his companies. Mostly we talked about what he wanted in the future and some of the obstacles that he's facing," he added.

The legendary footballer is not only going through a personal crisis but also a professional one with United coach Erik ten Hag. He has forced Ronaldo to warm the benches. This season, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has only scored once in eight appearances for the Red Devils.
