New Zealand all-rounder Kyle Jamieson has explained why he decided to pull out of the IPL mega auction. Last year, Jamieson was one of the costliest buys in auctions as he was bagged for 15 crores INR by Royal Challengers Bangalore. He played nine games for the team.
The team had released the all-rounder ahead of the player retentions in November. For New Zealand, the lanky player has played 12 Tests, five ODIs, and eight T20Is. The Auckland-born player will play in the upcoming season of Plunkett Shield. Meanwhile, the 27-year-old spoke about the challenges of isolation and quarantine in his country.
"Yeah, look, there were a couple of things for me," Jamieson said on Thursday. "Firstly, after the last 12 months, it's had its challenges with MIQs (managed isolation and quarantine) and bubbles and spending a fair amount of time in that sort of set-up. It was important for me, when I look at the schedule coming up over the next 12 months to try and find six weeks or eight weeks where I can spend some time at home.
