The Indian T20 League 2022 mega auction is just hours away from commencing. It is an event that is as exciting as the tournament itself, and everyone looks forward to it. While many big names from all the teams are expected to join this event, Preity Zinta has confirmed she will not attend the auction.

The Bollywood actress and the co-owner of Punjab is always very active in the auction. Her excitement to get the players the team needs is unmatchable. Her presence in the tournament is also motivating for the players.

However, Zinta revealed that she will not be attending the event as it would be difficult for her to leave her children in the USA and travel to India. She also informed that the discussions have been long, and asked the fans for their player suggestions.

"This year I’m going to miss the IPL Auction as I cannot leave my little ones & travel to India. The last couple of days have been hectic discussing d auction & all things cricket with our team. I wanted to reach out to our fans & ask them if they hv any player suggestions..." read her first tweet.

"Or recommendations for our new team. I would love to know who you wanna see in the red jersey this year. Bring it on folks… I’m all ears," she added to the thread.

Punjab has the highest budget among all 10 teams of 72 crores going into the auction. They retained Mayank Agarwal and Arshdeep Singh before the auction, and are looking to completely revamp their squad. Although they have not yet announced their captain, it is expected that Mayank Agarwal will lead the team. He was KL Rahul's deputy until the last season.
