Former Indian skipper and batting superstar, Virat Kohli is currently out of international cricket as he has been rested from a couple of bilateral assignments of Team India. He made his last batting appearance for India in the two-match Test series against West Indies.
Since then, he hasn’t played any international matches for India. Now, he is expected to return to international cricket with the Indian team in the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. Meanwhile, he is enjoying family time with his wife and Bollywood actress, Anushka Sharma and his daughter.
Apart from this, Kohli recently visited his 8-acre land in Mumbai’s Alibaug with his wife Anushka Sharma to begin the construction. Amidst all this, a leading and renowned newspaper in India published a story which claimed that the former Indian skipper will build a cricket pitch at his Alibaug farmhouse.
This reported news and speculation didn’t go down well with the modern-day batting great and he immediately took to his official Instagram handle. Virat declared and debunked it as a piece of fake news and questioned the credibility of the leading news daily with an interesting caption.
"Bachpan se jo akhbaar padha hai, wo bhi fake news chhapne lage ab (The newspaper that I have read since Childhood, has also started publishing fake news now!!),” wrote Kohli as he posted a screenshot of the news story published by India’s famous newspaper.
Here’s a look at the Instagram story posted by Virat Kohli:
Speaking of cricket, the 34-year-old is going to be a key factor for India in two upcoming major international tournaments, including Asia Cup 2023 and ODI World Cup 2023 in India.
Coming back to Kohli’s Instagram story, exposing the fake news also garnered some interesting reactions on social media. The fans slammed the media house for publishing such a story on Virat Kohli without any proper authenticity.
