Andrew Symonds recently passed away in a tragic car accident on the 14th of May. According to Australian media, Symonds died as a result of the injuries incurred during the accident. Amidst that, Australia star Adam Gilchrist has sent a touching birthday greeting to Late Andrew Symonds' daughter Chloe. Chloe turned 7 on May 18th 2022.
Gilchrist said in an emotional message that he is handing along the hug he once received from his buddy Andrew Symonds and that he hopes the hug contains the same warmth, love, and trust that he received from his friend.
“Sent a massive hug that I once received from a very good mate, that I had stored away, to his daughter for her birthday today. More important she feels its warmth, love and trust than me. Happy Birthday sweet girl,” Gilchrist wrote on Twitter.

Following Symonds' death, condolences flowed in from all around the world, with the cricketing community believing that the former player died far too soon. Symonds, one of the finest modern-era all-rounders, was one of the pioneers of the game. In addition to his exceptional talents, Symonds' mindset helped turn Australia's limited-overs team into a powerhouse in the mid-2000s.
"If Roy shook your hand you had his word, that’s the sort of bloke he was and that's why I always wanted him on my team. An extraordinary player and even better human being. Can’t believe he’s gone. Thoughts are with his family at this time," his former teammate Ricky Ponting wrote upon Symond's demise.
In 1998, Andrew Symonds made his international debut. He played 26 Tests, 198 ODIs, and 14 T20Is for Australia. In the longest format of the game, he scored 1462 runs at an average of 40.6 and took 24 wickets, while in One-Day Internationals, he scored 5088 runs at an average of 39.8 and grabbed 133 wickets. In the game's shortest format, he was also highly valuable. He scored 337 runs with a strike rate of 169.3 and got 8 wickets in 14 T20Is.
