West Indies beat India by five wickets in the second T20I to level the five-match series 1-1. A brilliant bowling performance by Obed McCoy set up the game perfectly for the home team. The batters then came and also did their job to perfection.

Nicholas Pooran won the toss and elected to bowl first at Warner Park, which worked well for his team. India, on the other hand, had the worst possible start. They lost their skipper on the very first ball to Obed McCoy. The visitors managed a few quick runs but lost two more wickets to McCoy in the powerplay. After six overs, India managed 56/3 on the board.

Trouble continued for India as they kept losing wickets. No batter could impact the game much, with the highest score being 31 runs in 31 balls from Hardik Pandya's bat. Jason Holder (two wickets), Alzari Joseph (one wicket), and Akeal Hosein (one wicket) joined the club as the Windies bowlers maintained their unchallenged dominance.

McCoy took three more wickets towards the back end of the innings and registered his personal best figures (17/6 in four overs). India was eventually all-out for a score of 138 runs. In the chase, Brandon King gave the home team a solid start as he took the team past the powerplay (46 runs) without losing a wicket.

India managed to pick up a few wickets in the middle overs, but it was insufficient because King (68 runs in 52 balls) had already scored beyond 50. The Nicholas Pooran-led side capitalized on their good start as Devon Thomas played a quick-fire knock. He remained unbeaten on 31 runs in just 19 balls to take his team through.

The men in maroon needed 10 runs to win in the last over, though, so the game was close. Avesh Khan, who delivered a no-ball and was struck for a four and a six on his first two delivery, was unable to help India defend their score. West Indies won the match by five wickets and four balls to spare.
