How CSK managed to revive itself in IPL 2021

Chennai Super Kings is the 2nd most successful team in the history of IPL. CSK has won 3 IPL trophies since the inception of the IPL. Only Mumbai Indians have managed to win more IPL trophies than CSK. However, CSK endured their worst ever season in the IPL last season. Out of 14 games in the IPL last season, CSK managed to win only 6 games in total. Furthermore, CSK also failed to qualify for the IPL playoffs for the 1st time ever in IPL history.

Fortunately, CSK has managed to find their lost form in the IPL this season. CSK endured a brilliant outing in the 1st half of the IPL this season. Out of 7 matches in the 1st leg of IPL 2021, CSK won an impressive 5 matches in total.

The CSK side is much more balanced in IPL 2021

The opening pair of CSK batted brilliantly in the 1st leg of IPL 2021. Ruturaj Gaikwad showcased his batting ability at the top of the batting order. Furthermore, Faf du Plessis was also extremely efficient for CSK with the bat in the 1st half of IPL 2021. The return of Suresh Raina in the IPL this season has also added stability to CSK’s middle order. Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni, and Sam Curran can smack balls out of the park at will.

In the bowling department, Deepak Chahar has been fantastic for CSK in the 1st leg of IPL 2021. In 7 matches for CSK in IPL 2021, Chahar scalped an impressive 8 wickets in total. Sam Curran has also been superb with the ball for CSK in the 1st leg of IPL 2021. The duo of Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja has been sensational for CSK in the 1st half of IPL 2021. The duo scalped a total of 11 wickets for CSK, maintaining a superb bowling average of around 6 runs per over. After a superb performance in the 1st half of IPL 2021, CSK will be eager to perform in a similar fashion in the UAE leg. CSK is one of the favorites to qualify for the IPL playoffs this season.
