How's the weather in Mumbai ahead of Chennai vs Kolkata clash?

The 15th season of the Indian T20 League is finally beginning on March 26. The tournament will kick off with the game between Chennai and Kolkata at the Wankhede stadium.

The 15th season of the Indian T20 League is all set to start on March 26. The tournament will kick off with the game between Chennai and Kolkata at the Wankhede stadium. Both teams played the final last year with the Yellow Brigade winning against the Men in Purple and Gold. Both teams had contrasting fortunes last season. The MS Dhoni-led side won nine out of 14 games and finished second in the points table.

They qualified for the final after beating Delhi in Qualifier One. On the other hand, the Eoin Morgan-led side was languishing at seventh at the beginning of the UAE leg. They turned around their fortunes in the UAE leg and finished fourth in the points table. They qualified for the final after beating Bangalore and Delhi in Eliminator and Qualifier Two respectively. Notably, this will be the first time since 2011 when both teams will play the opening game of the cash-rich league.

This year, both teams have gone through a change in their squad and leadership. For the defending champions, MS Dhoni has handed over the captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja. On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer will lead the two-time winners this year. 

Talking about the squad, the four-time winners have added the likes of Tushar Deshpande, Shivam Dube, Maheesh Theekshana, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Devon Conway, Dwaine Pretorius, Adam Milne, Chris Jordan, etc. 

On the other hand, last year runners-ups have added the likes of Ajinkya Rahane, Chamika Karunaratne, Sam Billings, Umesh Yadav, Mohammad Nabi, etc. 

Weather report

Speaking about the weather in Mumbai, rain is highly unlikely to interrupt the opening game of the 2022 season. According to the reports, the temperature will be 29 degrees Celsius at the start of the game i.e 7:30 PM IST. The wind speed and humidity levels will be 13km/h and 66 per cent respectively. Thus, fans can expect an enthralling contest without any interruption.
