Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell expressed his happiness after being picked by Royal Challengers Bangalore for the upcoming 14th edition of the IPL. The 32-year-old is excited to help RCB win their 1st title this year. Being one of the most entertaining batsmen to watch in white-ball cricket, Maxwell can change the course of any game in a matter of few overs. His fearless batting approach is what makes him one of the favorites.

Maxwell had a fantastic season for the Kings XI Punjab back in 2014. The Australian cricketer smashed 552 runs at an average of 34.50 and an impressive strike rate of 187.75. Since then, the all-rounder has struggled to produce similar performances as the teams have exploited one of his weaknesses, facing leg-spinners. Glenn Maxwell played 82 IPL games where he amassed 1505 runs at an average of 22.13. He also picked up 19 wickets.

Looking forward to ease the pressure on Kohli and De Villiers: Glenn Maxwell

After a low IPL season last year, Maxwell surprised everyone in the limited-overs series against India. He showed why he is one of the most dangerous batsmen in limited-overs cricket. In all three ODIs against India, Maxwell played a crucial role with knocks of 45, 63*, and 59 runs, respectively. He followed it with knocks of 2, 22, and 54 runs, respectively, in the T20I series.

Glenn Maxwell will add firepower to the RCB batting department. The all-rounder will be joining Josh Philippe, Virat Kohli, and AB de Villiers in the RCB batting unit. Maxwell is looking to ease the pressure on Kohli and De Villiers, who have carried the RCB batting.
