Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is currently out of action from international cricket owing to the major injuries that he sustained during a horrific accident he met on the 30th of December last year. His luxury car crashed into the divider and immediately caught fire. Eventually, the individuals present there at the moment rescued him somehow.

Now, after undergoing knee surgeries, Rishabh Pant is currently undergoing his rehabilitation, former legendary Indian skipper Kapil Dev has come up with some sort of hard and tough love for Rishabh.

Kapil Dev spoke in a video on Uncut where he felt that the 25-year-old’s presence out of the field has left the team in trouble on the field. Just like parents scold and slap their kids, the 1983 World Champion skipper is also willing to do the same once the southpaw gets recovered.

I want him to recover so that I can go and slap him - Kapil Dev

"I have a lot of love for him. I want him to recover so that I can go and slap him and tell him to look after himself. Because of your accident, the entire team is in tatters. I love him but I am also angry at him. Why do such youngsters of today's times make such mistakes? There should be a slap for it,” said Kapil Dev.

"First blessings, that he gets all the love in the world, may the almighty give him good health. First that, but after that, like parents have this responsibility to slap the children if they make mistakes," he added later.

Notably, the hero of India’s win in the 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Pant tore all three ligaments of his right knee in the accident. Subsequently, he went through the supervision of the official medical team of the Indian Cricket Board after being referred from the Max Hospital of Dehradun.

Primarily, he was treated at the Saksham Hospital of Roorkee, nearby to the spot on Delhi-Dehradun Highway where Pant met this accident.
