Virat Kohli

Ahead of the opening game, RCB skipper Virat Kohli said that he expects a great game against the defending champions, Mumbai Indians. He added that the team is ultimately going to focus on their skills and strength. The 14th season of the IPL will start this Friday, with Mumbai Indians locking horns with RCB at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Virat Kohli feels Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will need to believe in themselves if they want to win against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL opener tonight. Virat Kohli also admitted that MI is a champion side, and he was quick to add that RCB shouldn't focus too much on their rivals' skills. Royal Challengers Bangalore is one of three IPL teams that are yet to win the IPL title.

Royal Challengers Bangalore spent the most at the IPL 2021 Mini-Auction

Bangalore has spent the most money on the IPL 2021 mini-auction, which took place in February. The Virat-Kohli-led franchise acquired the services of Kyle Jamieson for ₹15 crores. This decision raised a few concerns as the New Zealand all-rounder is yet to be tested in the game's shortest format. Considering Glenn Maxwell's lack of runs last season, not many had anticipated that the Australian all-rounder would grab the big bucks at the auction. However, the 32-year-old was bought for ₹14.25 crore by Royal Challengers Bangalore. Another notable inclusion to the RCB's team is experienced all-rounder Dan Christian. The Australian all-rounder had a fantastic season for the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League. It will be interesting to see whether Virat Kohli and co. can clinch their 1st IPL title with the help of their new recruits.
