FC Goa are currently sitting in the sixth spot at the table. They have managed 12 points so far from eight games. However, the Gaurs failed to showcase their best football in the last four games. They lost three while drawing one game. In the last game, they played against Mumbai Cty FC and lost the game by 4-1.

But, their new signing, Iker Guarrotxena scored that goal in that match. Meanwhile, after that loss, Iker Guarrotxena opened up about his experience so far playing in the Indian Super League. He also hailed the fan support toward them as he believed that still enough time is there for FC Goa to turn things around in this ongoing season.

“Honestly, I didn't expect this kind of atmosphere here in India.” - FC Goa’s Iker Guarrotxena

In a post-match interview, he had an exclusive chat, and there, Iker Guarrotxena shared that he did not expect such support from fans in India. He said: “It’s unbelievable. Honestly, I didn't expect this kind of atmosphere here in India. I am so happy and excited to play the next game already as we have a beautiful atmosphere at home. This is an amazing group and we can change our situation.”

He also added about his feelings after scoring his second ISL goal this season. “Yes, we can't be happy because we weren’t ourselves. We put in the work during the week. We had good energy before the game against Mumbai City FC and we expected more. But sometimes it happens, we need to learn fast and you will see a big change before the next game,” Iker Guarrotxena added.

“The coach knows how to change this situation. It’s not a big challenge because any team can lose two games in a row. We have a beautiful challenge in the next game and Carlos (Pena) is the guy who can manage this best. We will be playing in Goa and we are all together. No complaints right now, we have to work and compete well,” FC Goa’s new signing concluded.
