Umran Malik, the Indian pacer, is fast becoming India’s trusted pacer across formats, with the Test being the only format where he is yet to make his debut. On the other hand, Pakistan is one country that produces pacers who can clock over 150 km/h often and they do it with ease, unlike India where Malik is the only pacer who could clock such speed at present.

However, the Indian pacer is becoming a sensation across the cricketing world and is being watched widely, with all of the attention coming from the Indian T20 League. Although Malik was initially criticised for his economy rate early on in his career, over time and with experience, the fiery pacer has worked on the line and length and is becoming an undeniable force for India.

That being said, the Pakistani young uncapped pacer Zaman Khan, who is 21 years old at present, claimed that performance would matter more to him than pace and cited that he would not bother about pace as long as his performance works for the team that he plays for. Despite having a strong pace attack, the Pakistani team failed to win any series played at home against England and New Zealand.

Your pace is natural to you: Zaman Khan

For the unversed, Shaheen Afridi, the fiery left-arm Pakistani pacer, was left out of the squad for most of the series at home due to the injury that he sustained during the summit clash of the 20-20 World Cup 2022. Injuries have always been a concern for the team Pakistan pacers and it remains to be seen if the board would give it a thought about the same.

“If you talk about pace... I don't really care about pace. I care about performances. It's the performance that matters. Your pace is natural to you,” Zaman was quoted as saying by Paktv.tv. With the 50-over World Cup scheduled to take place later this year in India, it remains to be seen if the Pakistani team would address their injury concerns.
