Pakistani international cricketer Kamran Akmal claims that Indian cricketers are keen to resume cricketing activity with Pakistan. He believes that the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly can play an essential role in bringing the countries playing against each other. The political tensions between both nations have not allowed the teams to play against each other in a bilateral cricket series.

India and Pakistan are only seen playing against each other in the ICC tournaments in the last few years. Both the top-notch teams had last played a bilateral series back in the year 2013-14. Since then, the teams have faced each other only for the ICC events.

ICC has a significant role to play in resuming the India-Pakistan games: Kamran Akmal

Akmal further talked about the matter and stated that the ICC has a big role to play in resuming the India-Pakistan games. He further added that if both the teams face each other in the World Test Championship, then it would be a great initiative to better the relationship amongst them.

Meanwhile, both India and Pakistan are in England. The Pakistan cricket team is preparing for the limited-overs tour of England, starting from July 08. The Men in Green are going to play three ODIs and as many T20Is in a tour of England. Post that, they will travel to the Caribbean for five T20Is and two Test matches against the West Indies.

India are enjoying their break before the five Tests against England. The team is going to return back to the bio-bubble for the five-Test series against England around July 14. The five-match Test series is set to start from August in the UK.

The upcoming packed schedule will see the top two teams face each other in five Test matches in just six weeks. Before the commencement of the series, India will play a four-day fixture against an unnamed county team. India will also be involved in a 3-day match against County Select XI.
