Former Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh feels that Rishabh Pant looks like an apt option to be India’s captain in the future. Rishabh Pant has been in excellent form with the bat, and he will be crucial for Team India in the Test assignments in England. The left-handed batsman has become India's first-choice wicket-keeper in limited-overs and the purest format of the game. 

A year back, Rishabh Pant could not find a spot in the Indian cricket team until the 2nd Test against Australia in Melbourne. But now, he is a crucial player for the Indian cricket team across all formats. His image completely changed when he played in Australia. His brilliant performance shocked the hosts’ bowlers. The youngster seemed unstoppable, and the way he played at the Gabba was simply astonishing. Since then, the wicket-keeper batsman has become a crucial member of the Indian cricket team in the most extended format of the game.

Rishabh Pant can be compared to Adam Gilchrist: Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj Singh feels that Pant has matured in his ways, and he can lead team India in the future. Yuvraj also reckoned that Pant could be compared to legendary Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist. Rishabh Pant has the ability to score runs in difficult situations too. Additionally, he always finds a way to help the Indian team win games. Rishabh Pant is currently in England with the rest of the team. It will be interesting to see how he performs in the Test series against England. 

After India’s defeat against NZ, the team has been given a three-week break before they regroup ahead of the first Test match at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. All the players have been granted permission of travelling but will be required to report back immediately when called upon. The Indian men's cricket team is going to play five Test matches against England. The series against England in their home ground begins on August 4. The opening Test of the series is going to be held at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
