The newly-appointed Bangalore skipper, Faf du Plessis had some fun ahead of the season kickoff. In a video shared by Bangalore on social media handles, the right-hander had a hilarious conversation with Mr. Nags. Mr. Nags is a comical character played by Danish Sait, who is working with the team as a comedian since 2015.
In the video, Faf spoke about his six-pack abs, how he keeps himself fit at the age of 37. He also sang a Kannada song, a tradition followed by every Bangalore player since 2015.
“Captain Faf’s sense of humour comes out as Mr. Nags talks about his 8 pack abs and continues the 7-year tradition by making Faf sing a famous Kannada song. Watch now,” the video caption.
On the other hand, the former South Africa skipper jokingly said that he wears three boxers nowadays, taking a hilarious dig at his own age.
The Pretoria-born player hasn't played for his national side since 2020 and was left out of the 20-20 World Cup squad. The former Chennai player is unlikely to play for his national side again. This year, this will be the first time he will be leading an ITL team.
"I wear normal pads. The only thing that’s different with me is I wear three boxers. There’s a lot to protect,” said Faf.
“I am used to being the oldest as you can see. In the South African side, I was the last one to stay. I want to be the guy that’s there at the end. The guy that’s oldest, the wisest, most grey hair.”
