I will learn a lot from Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma: Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav is one of three debutants in the Indian T20 squad for the upcoming 5-match series against England. Yadav was waiting for the opportunity for a long time, and was finally gratified for his patience. The Indian selection committee picked him in the T20I squad after his fantastic performance in the Indian Premier League last year.

Suryakumar Yadav had one of the best IPL seasons in terms of batting average. The MI batsman scored 480 runs at an average of 40 in 16 innings with four half-centuries. Despite his stellar performance in the UAE, the selectors ignored him for the Australia tour. His disappointment was evident, and cricket experts were also surprised as to why Yadav was being overlooked. But good things come to those who wait, and Yadav has finally got the opportunity to prove his worth on the international stage.

Looking forward to spending quality time and grasp as much as I can: Suryakumar Yadav

The batsman is one of three debutants in the squad, along with Ishan Kishan and all-rounder Rahul Tewatia. All three were among the best players in the Indian Premier League last season. India and England will play a series of five T20 internationals in Ahmedabad, starting from March 12. All the games will take place at the newly-constructed Sardar Patel Cricket Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad.

Suryakumar Yadav is currently playing for Mumbai in the 2021 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Batting at No. 4, he smashed a 33-ball 50 in their seven-wicket victory over Delhi on Sunday. The right-handed batsman will play three more games before going to Ahmedabad on March 1.
