In a tragic incident, Harshal Patel's elder sister passed away a few days ago. Amidst this crisis, Harshal Patel left the Bangalore team's bio-bubble to be with his family. As a result, he missed their game against Chennai but returned to play against Delhi.
The 31-year old recently took to Instagram to pen down a special message for his sister. "Didi, you were one of the kindest and most joyful people in our lives. You faced incredible difficulties in life with a big smile on your face till your last breath. When I was with you in the hospital before I came back to India you told me to focus on my game and don’t worry about you. Those words were the only reason I could come back and take the field last night," he said.
"That’s all I could do now to remember and honour you. I will continue to do everything that made you proud of me. I will miss you every moment of my life, in good times and bad. I love you so much. Rest in peace jadi," he added.

Meanwhile, the former purple cap winner did not look in the best shape upon his comeback. He conceded 40 runs in his four overs in the match against Delhi. Overall, Patel has had a decent 2022 season. He has taken six wickets in the five matches that he has played and conceded runs at an economy of just 6.4. He is a key cog in the Bangalore setup and will be keen to get back to his elements.
Bangalore has played six games in the season so far, winning four and losing two. They are currently placed third on the points table.
