ICC announce T20 World Cup schedule

The schedule for the upcoming T20 World Cup, to be held in Oman and UAE, has been revealed by the ICC. The tournament will kick off with Oman hosting Papua New Guinea in a Group B clash on October 17 in Round 1.

The schedule for the upcoming T20 World Cup, to be held in Oman and UAE, has been revealed by the ICC. The tournament will kick off with Oman hosting Papua New Guinea in a Group B clash on October 17 in Round 1. The other game of the day will be played between Scotland and Bangladesh at the same venue. Group A teams - Ireland, Netherlands, Sri Lanka and Namibia will be in action on October 18 in Abu Dhabi. Round 1 will go on till October 22 and the top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super 12s.

The main league, Super 12s starts on October 23 with a mouthwatering Group 1 clash between Australia and South Africa, followed by another riveting contest between England and West Indies. Group 2 will get underway with an iconic clash between India and Pakistan in Dubai on October 24. The Group stages will finish on November 8, with India taking on the second-placed Round 1 team from Group A.

The first semi-final will be played on November 10 in Abu Dhabi while the second semi-final will be played on November 11 at the same venue. The tournament will conclude on Sunday, November 14 in Dubai. All the three knockout games have been allotted a reserve day. The day matches of the tournament will start at 3:30 PM IST while the day-night games will get underway at 7:30 PM IST.
