England surpassed Australia to the 3rd spot on the Test charts

According to an ICC statement, the latest annual update excludes results of 2017-18. The newest ICC rankings update rates all the Test matches played since May 2020 at 100 per cent and those of the previous two years at 50 per cent. England is currently placed third with 109 rating points. Australia is ranked fourth with 108 rating points. Pakistan (94) have also gained three points but remained in the fifth position. On the other end, West Indies (84), who defeated Bangladesh 2-0 and drew 0-0 with Sri Lanka in the series played this year, have jumped two spots to sixth. This is their best position since 2013. South Africa (80) and Sri Lanka (78) have dropped a place each to seventh and eighth positions, respectively. They are then followed by Bangladesh (46), who have lost five points and Zimbabwe (35), who have gained eight points.

India and New Zealand will face each other in the maiden World Test Championship final at Southampton's Ageas Bowl. The most awaited series is going to commence from June 18 to 22. India and New Zealand qualified for the last encounter after coming first and second in the WTC standings. The men in blue ended with the highest percentage points, whereas New Zealand came second to set up the thrilling clash. The Indian cricket team has experienced only one loss in its ICC World Test Championship campaign so far. That defeat came against NZ in 2020. India is currently leading the tournament points table with 72.2% points, whereas New Zealand is placed second with 70.0%.
