The legendary Swedish player Zlatan Ibrahimović will turn 41 on 3rd October. For comparison, Ronaldinho is 42 and has been retired for more than a decade from international football while the 6’5” Swede continues to play at the highest level.

Currently, the AC Milan player is recovering from an injury that took place in May this year. Following the injury, Ibrahimović had to undergo surgery for an anterior cruciate ligament injury and has since then forgone professional football. He is expected to be back on the pitch early next year.

The intensity of his injury and the extent of the recovery period sparked rumours of Ibrahimović's retirement. Many on social media and footballing circles started to talk of AC Milan’s striker’s retirement plans.

The Rossoneri veteran however has come out and squashed all doubts of his comeback. He has said that he will be back to professional football again. In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, Zlatan Ibrahimović said, “You will surely see it. When I come back, I will be heard, you can count on it. I will do it with violence.”

He confirmed, “I’m not going to retire, I’m coming back and I won't give up.”

In his usual confident cum arrogant style, the former Juventus, Barcelona, PSG, and Manchester United player said, “If I see a player stronger than me, I’ll stop. But I haven’t seen him yet.”

Ibrahimović was an important player for Stefano Pioli’s side last season. Despite his infrequent appearances, he scored sight goals and helped the Italian club to their first Seria A title in more than a decade.

Zlatan has had an impressively long career in world football. He made his senior debut way back in 1999 with Malmo FC. Since then he has gone on to play for some of the biggest clubs in the world like Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, PSG, Manchester United and AC Milan. Upon an important performance at AC Milan, he was given a one-year contract extension that runs until mid-2023.
