Former Indian off-spinner, Harbhajan Singh feels that wicket-keeper batsman should swiftly rectify his mistakes. If Samson doesn't learn from his mistakes, another batsman will take his position in the playing XI. Samson was a part of the playing XI for all the three T20 games against Australia.

Samson was brought in at number four as a replacement for Shreyas Iyer. He managed to aggregate only 48 runs from the 34 balls he faced in the entire T20 series. Although Samson may not score enough runs, he ended the series with a strike rate of 141. The 26-year-old provided the boost in the middle-overs that the team lacked over the years.

After KL Rahul taking over the wicket-keeping responsibility in the Australian tour, Samson made a place as a pure batsman. The youngster proved his worth in IPL 2020. However, the batsman seems to have got the opportunities late.

In 2015, Samson had his T20I debut, and after that, he got to chance this year. The Australian series is his second T20 International game. However, the Keralite failed to make a significant impact in his six innings.

The Rajasthan Royals wicket-keeper was in fantastic form during the start of the IPL. He smashed two half-centuries, but then in the second half, the right-hander could only manage another fifty in the next 12 matches. However, he was the leading run-scorer for the Rajasthan Royals. Samson aggregated 375 runs at an average of 28 and strike rate of 158.

I am confident that Samson is going to learn and get better, says Harbhajan Singh

Harbhajan Singh highlighted that Samson had got an opportunity to bat at number 4. The spot is still not locked by either Shreyas Iyer or Manish Pandey in T20. He also added that the youngster had got potential and quality as he has displayed several times earlier. However, the 41-year-old also believes that if Samson doesn't learn from his mistakes soon, he is likely to be replaced.

Talking about the wicket-keepers, Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant are also looking for an opportunity at the number 4 slot. The Indian spinner backed Samson to learn from his mistakes and fix his place for future games. Harbhajan signed off by saying that if you have got the opportunity and then you should make it count.
