The Chennai Super Kings scripted history under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. The yellow outfits won their fifth IPL title after defeating the Gujarat Titans in the final of the recently-concluded IPL 2023. With that win, CSK have also become one of the two most successful teams in the history of the tournament alongside the five-time champions Mumbai Indians.

Coming back to the IPL 2023, there was also news that went a bit disheartening for the MS Dhoni fans when the legendary wicketkeeper-batter sustained a knee injury in the middle of the season. He was also seen in trouble while walking due to this injury. Although he kept playing despite that and ended up winning his fifth title as captain.

Meanwhile, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has come up with a big statement on Dhoni’s knee injury after the conclusion of the tournament. Viswanathan also hinted at the future possibilities for Dhoni.

"Yes, it is true that Dhoni will be taking medical advice for his left knee injury and accordingly decide. If surgery is advised, it can only be ascertained after reports come out, it will be completely his call," said Viswanathan to PTI.

"Frankly, we are not even thinking along those lines as we haven't reached that stage. It will be completely Dhoni's call. But I can tell you in CSK, we haven't entertained those thoughts," he added later.

Later on, the CSK official also talked about the activities of the team just after the remarkable win against Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023 final.

"He is very happy but there were no celebrations. The players dispersed to their respective destinations from Ahmedabad only. Also, if you have seen CSK, we are never big on celebrations," said the team official.
