Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra praised Virat Kohli after his masterful 77 not out in the 3rd T20I against England. He mentioned that the in-form India skipper should be batting at No. 3 in the shortest format of the game. Despite Virat Kohli hitting 77 off just 46 deliveries, the had an 8-wicket defeat to England in the 3rd T20I. England have now taken a 2-1 lead in the ongoing 5-match series.

Virat Kohli was the lone knight as India's new-look top-order failed to get going against England's extra pace. The hosts slipped to 24 for three at the end of the powerplay, but Kohli's rescue act sailed them to 156. In the end, it did not prove enough as wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler came up with a scorching 83 not out to help England chase down the total in just 18.2 overs.

Virat Kohli batted at No. 3 in India's 7-wicket victory in the 2nd T20I, but he dropped to No. 4 after Rohit Sharma returned to the team. Ishan Kishan, who hit a match-winning knock of 56 on his T20I debut while opening the innings, was dropped to No.3. The Indian team management backed KL Rahul to open the innings along with Rohit Sharma despite his poor sequence of scores. The move did not work as Rahul, Sharma, and Kishan failed to score runs for the hosts.

Winning the toss and deciding to bowl first at the turning pitch, England's potent bowling unit led by Mark Wood managed to run rings around the strong batting line-up of the Men in Blue. Chasing a total of 156, the visitors looked ahead in the game for the most part of their innings. Jos Buttler played a match-winning knock for the visitors, includind five boundaries and four sixes. England have now taken a 2-1 lead in the series. Both teams will play again on March 18 for the 4th T20I. India will be aiming to level the series, while England will be hoping to seal the series.
