Indian Premier League 2023 has witnessed some emerging talents like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, and a few other youngsters. Meanwhile, a lot of cricket fans and experts of the game have reckoned that Yashasvi Jaiswal might be the next big thing in Indian cricket and he could be an essential part of the national side of India in international cricket.

The former Indian off-spinner and currently the commentator, Harbhajan Singh has come up with a big statement for the young RR batter. Bhajji felt that Jaiswal is capable of filling in the opening spot of the Indian team in the ‘not-so-distant’ future.

“If we compare the current form, and if we want to shift our focus towards youth, then Yashasvi (Jaiswal) is better than many. After the T20 World Cup defeat in Dubai (UAE) then plenty was discussed about forming a young unit for the format. Guys like Yashasvi, Rinku Singh, and Shubman Gill under Hardik Pandya should be a new team altogether,” said Harbhajan Singh while answering a query of the fan about if Jaiswal should replace Indian skipper Rohit Sharma in the Indian team or not.

Here’s what Harbhajan Singh further said about Yashasvi Jaiswal

“Hardik Pandya should be captain and Yashasvi opens the innings with Shubman Gill. These guys are filled with potential,” the two-time World Cup-winning former spinner added later.

Speaking of Yashasvi’s batting performances in the Indian Premier League 2023, he has stunned everyone with his stellar performances throughout the season. He scored 625 runs in the 14 innings of the 14 matches, he played for the Rajasthan Royals with an average of 48.07 including a century, and the fastest half-century in the history of IPL in only 13 balls.

Rajasthan Royals kept themselves alive in the tournament till the end of the tournament. Although they couldn’t make it to the playoffs and ended up the IPL 2023 campaign in the fifth position of the points table.
