After 1021 days of struggle, Virat Kohli finally clinched his 71st century and ended the draught that had troubled not just him but the whole of the Indian team. The former India captain had opened up about his struggle with mental health following century draught and appeared to be a calmer person after a much-needed break.

The 33-year-old seemed to enjoy his cricket with renewed energy and it helped him clinch two back-to-back half-centuries and a highly awaited century. In the process, Kohli also became the second top scorer in the Asia Cup.

Kohli has talked in length about being content with what he has achieved already and looks to impart his experience to the next generation.
Recently the Indian star sent his T-shirt and shoes to young cricketers at his former coach Rajkumar Sharma’s academy. Kumar shared the pictures of him giving Kohli’s t-shirt and shoes to young budding cricketers on Instagram.

This great gesture has been lauded by many on social media. A Twitter user by the name Kohlifier said, “Humble king”, while another named Zinghur ki naak said, “How sweet, I’d kill to be in their position rn.”

Virat Kohli is back in form after a long time

Kohli was one of the very few Indian players who came out of the Asia Cup 2022 with a positive performance. He played instrumental innings in three innings and took India to a par score in all those matches. The right-hand batter made 256 runs in five matches at the continental cup and was the second top scorer just shy of five runs off of Mohammad Rizwan’s total who played a match more.

The Delhi born has now shifted his focus on the upcoming three-match T20I series against Australia. Kohli will also be one of the first names on the teamsheet for India at the upcoming 20-20 World Cup in Australia later this year.

As for India, the Men in Blue crashed out of the Asia Cup after losing to both Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the Super Four. The Island nation, went on to defeat Pakistan in the final clinching their sixth Asia Cup title.
