The vibe around India vs Pakistan match is like no other game. The teams don't play often thus every time they are set to play against each other, the excitement among fans reaches a new high.
The two teams last met in the 20-20 World Cup in 2021 where Pakistan picked up their first win over their arch-rivals in the global event. The Babar Azam led side picked up a comprehensive win y 10 wickets.
The India-Pakistan game is a huge revenue generator thus the cricket's governing body always club the two teams together. India and Pakistan will now clash in the 2022 20-20 World Cup on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
While Pakistan will be keen to continue their winning run, India will be eyeing revenge. The tickets for the match was put on sale and were sold out within minutes. Well, it doesn't come as a surprise.
A total of 16 teams will participate in the event, with eight teams battling out in the qualifier round. Two Test playing nations - West Indies and Sri Lanka will also play in the qualifier round.
Meanwhile, along with India and Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh and two teams from the qualifier round will comprise Group B. Hosts Australia, New Zealand, England, Afghanistan and to qualifier teams are placed in Group A.
India will play their second Super 12 match on October 27 against runner up of Group A from the qualifier round, which will be followed by matches against South Africa (October 30 in Perth) and Bangladesh (Adelaide Oval on November 2).
