Sri Lanka's tour to India has been rescheduled by the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) in India. Sri Lanka Cricket had earlier requested a change to the schedule in order to handle the bio-bubble to bubble transfer. Matches will begin at the end of February and run until mid-March.

In the original schedule, the Test matches were scheduled before the T20 series. Now, the T20 matches will begin on the 24th of February, and the Test matches will begin on the 4th of March. Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow will host the first T20 match. The next two T20 games will be played at Dharmashala's HPCA Stadium. The Test matches will be played in Mohali and Bangalore.

The last time these two teams encountered each other was last year. India won the ODI series 2-1, and Sri Lanka won the T20 series with the same scoreline.

Sri Lanka is currently playing against Australia away from home in a five-match T20 series. The series will end on the 20th of February. The players will be transferred from one bubble to the other to run the schedule smoothly.

Meanwhile, India is currently playing against West Indies in a white-ball series. The hosts have already had a 3-0 win in the ODI matches, and they now move to Kolkata to play the T20 games. The three-match series will begin on the 16th of February, the second game will be played on the 18th, and the last on the 20th.
