Two bullet shells were discovered in the baggage compartment of a private bus that will be taking Sri Lanka team members from Chandigarh's hotel Lalit to Mohali's I.S Bindra Cricket Stadium. The shells were found during a routine inspection on Saturday. India and Sri Lanka are set to play the first Test in Mohali.
On Saturday, the bus was examined with metal detectors and the shells were found. The bus was parked within a hotel complex that is under the jurisdiction of the IT Park Police Station. There hasn't been a formal complaint filed yet, and the police have just filed a DDR.
The bus was recently booked for a wedding, according to police sources. Despite the ban, celebratory shooting is common during weddings in Punjab. The bus drivers and owners have been questioned by the police, but no information about the celebratory fire has surfaced.
Shadilal, the SHO of the IT Park Police Station, declined to speak to the media. In the meanwhile, India and Sri Lanka are playing a T20 series. In a one-sided battle, India won both of the first two matches. All Indian batters have performed excellently in this series. The bowlers have also put up some strong performances. The Sri Lankan players have not had the finest series, but their batters did well in the second match.
On March 4th, the test series will begin. The first game will take place at Mohali. Virat Kohli will play his 100th Test match, and Rohit Sharma will lead India for the first time. The second and final game will be played in Bangalore. This will be a day and night Test match.
