BCCI has announced Team India's squad for the remaining two Tests to be played in the newly built Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad. The squad will be the same for the much-anticipated pink-ball Test against England. Surprisingly, senior fast bowler Umesh Yadav is going to join the team after clearing his fitness assessment. The seamer is included in the squad as a replacement for Shardul Thakur. The Indian team management has released Shardul Thakur, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Shahbaz Nadeem, and Priyank Panchal for the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021.

Indian pacer Mohammed Shami and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja remain absent. Both players are still recovering from their injuries sustained during the Australian tour. Jasprit Bumrah, who missed the second Test, is expected to return to the Indian XI. One more exciting inclusion in the team could be Hardik Pandya. The all-rounder was seen practicing with the pink ball and his selection would depend on whether he is fit enough to bowl in the most extended format of the game.

England and India will play two Tests including a day-night test match.

The four-Test series between India and England is levelled (1-1), following India's 317-run win in the second Test. England started the series with a brilliant win but fell short in the second Test. India made a strong comeback to level the series. With the third clash being a pink-ball Test, the odds hang in the balance. England will look to unleash their pace unit against India, while the hosts will try to maintain their home domination. The pink-ball match will be the first international match at the rebuilt Motera stadium. The venue is the largest in the world with a capacity of 110,000 spectators.
