India announce limited-overs squads for England series, Virat Kohli rested for first T20I

India have announced their squads for the limited-overs match for their tour of England. With a variety of players available for selection going into the 20-20 World Cup, India have announced two squads for the T20I matches. Rohit Sharma will return as the captain for all the matches in the series. Meanwhile, the entirety of the team that toured Ireland will also be a part of the first T20I.

Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and Rishabh Pant, who will play the Test match against England, will miss out on the first T20I. For the second and the third T20I, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson, Rahul Tripathi, Venkatesh Iyer, and Arshdeep Singh will make way for these players in the final two games. On the other hand, Deepak Hooda, who scored a century against Ireland, will be a part of the squad for all three matches.

As for the ODIs, Shikhar Dhawan was able to retain his spot in the team for the upcoming three-match series. Hardik Pandya, who has not played an ODI in nearly a year, has also returned to the team after leading the contingent in Ireland.

Apart from being a part of the first T20I, Arshdeep Singh also has been picked for the ODI side. The young pacer is coming out of a stellar performance in the Indian T20 League 2022.
