Both teams India and Pakistan are currently preparing for the upcoming 20-20 World Cup in Australia. India are coming from two T20I series victory over Australia and South Africa. On the other hand, Pakistan won the T20I tri-series in New Zealand on 14 October 2022. Now, both teams will face each other in Melbourne on 23 October.
However, after this mega event, the next major tournament will be the 50-over format World Cup in India in 2023. But, before that, Pakistan will host Asia Cup 2023. Now, as per reports, the Indian Cricket Board are planning to send the team to Pakistan for that tournament.

In 2023, the Men in Blue are going to play the Asia Cup in Pakistan and the Cricket World Cup at home conditions. Speaking about India’s chances, an official of the Board opened up. He said: "It will be subject to the clearance of the Government of India as always." However, there is an option to shift the tournament to UAE. It will be India's first visit to Pakistan after 2008.
But, the Indian Board have not indicated such options as of now. As per the FTP schedule, the 2023 Asia Cup is going to happen on September 1, 2023, in Pakistan. A total of 13 matches will happen. After that, teams will lock horns for the 50-over format World Cup in India. Meanwhile, the AGM note has confirmed the Government of India's decision to increase the tax outlay on the World Cup.
"The Governing Body of Cricket have now received a 20% (excluding surcharges) tax order for its broadcast revenue for the 2023 event from the tax authorities in India. The Indian Cricket Board are currently working with the Ministry of Finance, Government of India and have represented against this 20% (excluding surcharges) tax order at the very highest level and are hopeful that a 10% (excluding surcharges) tax order would be forthcoming shortly," the note reads. The total cost of the 2023 World Cup is USD 533.29 million.
