England cricketer Jos Buttler believes India will be the favorites to win the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. India will be hosting the mega event, and that is an advantage for Team India according to Buttler.

The 7th edition of the classic event was initially scheduled for Australia, from October 18 to November 15 last year, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The tournament decider is going to take place on November 14 and the Men in Blue will once again be hosting the event. Last time India hosted the competition was in 2016, where a vigorous West Indies team won their second T20 world title. The Caribbean side defeated England in an absolut thriller at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Team India will aspire to end their ICC title drought

The Indian cricket team doesn't win a significant ICC tournament since their ICC Champions Trophy in 2013. From that point to today, India only reached the World Cup semi-finals thrice (2015, 2016 & 2019), and two ICC Champions Trophy final appearances (2014 & 2017). Despite being tagged as the pre-tournament favorites on several occasions, team India has failed to get the right rhythm on the decisive stages.

All five T20 games between India and England will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The T20 series will then be followed by three ODIs later this month. After the ODI series, Jos Buttler will join the Rajasthan Royals for this year's Indian Premier League, starting April 9. The wicket-keeper batsman will be joined by international team-mates Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer.
