Rishabh Pant has been a great find for the Indian team in recent times. He has impressed everyone with his aggressive batting approach and his mastery behind the stumps. He has also been given the opportunity to lead India in the ongoing five-match T20I series against South Africa.

However, his performance in the game's shortest format hasn't really been great. In the four matches in the series so far, he has returned the figures of 29, 5, 6, and 17. Many think that his batting performances have suffered as a result of his captaincy. The 24-year-old has many experienced players around him to learn from and get better results.

The wicketkeeper's stats in the shortest format have not been effective either. In the 47 T20I appearances for India, he has scored 740 runs at an average of 23.12. Pant is known for his attacking batting style, but his strike rate of 124 suggests otherwise.

In the meantime, his captaincy has been on point throughout the series against the Proteas. The men in blue lost the first two matches, but bounced back to win the next two. The outcome of the series will be decided in the last match of the series to be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. The Indian captain, who took over as skipper when KL Rahul was injured, has made some fantastic decisions. He has used his bowling resources to great effect.

On the other hand, many fans and experts have not been happy with Pant's performance with the bat. Some have stated that his numbers should improve as soon as possible, while others have proposed that he be removed from the team.

"Love Rishabh Pant as a cricketer but his t20 international numbers need to get better…" wrote Irfan Pathan in his tweet. "I am not too sure, with the way Rishabh Pant has played recently. I think he still needs to score runs and score consistently," Wasim Jaffer told ESPNcricinfo.
