Former India batsman Aakash Chopra has expressed that Samson and Pandey should be a part of the upcoming T20 matches. Samson had a great outing in the first match but Pandey failed to make his chance count. The Royals’ wicket-keeper scored 23 runs from 15 balls whereas Pandey made 2 runs from 8 deliveries.

Chopra made this observation while talking about the Indian batting effort in yesterday's encounter with Australia. He also pointed out that the Indian team is not able to bat in an aggressive style despite having depth in their batting.

Aakash Chopra feels that the team's philosophy is stuck in the middle. It becomes a problem when you play six batsmen, and after that, you have players like Jadeja and Sundar. If you are batting till No.8, then you should bat explosively. But the Indian team is not able to do that, he added.

It is slightly difficult to bat in a new role, says Akash Chopra

After Dhawan's early dismissal, Aakash Chopra mentioned that Sanju Samson and Manish Pandey would need some time to adjust as they are batting slightly down the order.

The commentator suggested that the Indian team should look to bat Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja up the order in the long run. Washington Sundar is capable of batting at Number 7.

He pointed out that the Indian batting is not at its best. The team is relying too much on their top order. It has been Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja bailing them out in the last two matches.

Aakash Chopra concluded by saying that India should continue with Samson and Pandey for the upcoming two T20Is as well. The management and selectors should not be too reckless in making changes. He also suggests that the players should not be dropped in the series. Manish Pandey played in all the five T20Is in New Zealand and didn't get out even once.

Samson and Pandey had an impressive IPL 2020 in the UAE. Samson scored 375 runs for Rajasthan Royals with three half-centuries whereas Pandey aggregated 425 runs including three fifties.

Ravindra Jadeja is ruled out of the remaining T20I series. The Indian team will have to fill in a replacement along with Hardik Pandya at the No. 4 to No. 6 spots.

Although they have the option of including Shreyas Iyer, India is likely to stick with Sanju Samson and Manish Pandey. The men in blue defeated Australia by 11 runs. The second T20I match is programmed for Sunday in Sydney.
