India men's and women's teams will start their eight-day quarantine in Mumbai ahead of the forthcoming England tour. Players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravi Shastri, Mithali Raj, and Ravindra Jadeja began their hotel quarantine on Monday. According to reports, the Indian men's and women's cricket teams might travel together to England on a charter flight on June 2. The Indian cricket board has arranged charter flights to pick up players, coaches, and support staff and bring them to Mumbai. Once the teams reach the UK, there will be a strict ten-day quarantine for the men's team in Southampton. BCCI has also asked the Indian cricketers to take the dose of Covishield and not covaxin before flying to England so that the second dose can be made available to them there itself.

All the cricketers from both the teams have gathered in the city from where they will leave for the United Kingdom next month. The entire Indian contingent has been divided into two groups. The players from Mumbai who entered the bio-bubble on May 24 will not be allowed to mix the players who joined in the bubble on May 19.

The Indian men's cricket team is going to play six Test matches in England. This includes the World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand, followed by five Tests against England. The five-match series against England in their home ground begins on August 4. The opening Test of the series is going to be held at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Surprisingly, India defeated England at the same venue when they last met back in the year 2018. The Lord's, Headingley, Kennington Oval, and Old Trafford are the venues for the remaining four matches of the Test series.

On the contrary, the women's cricket team will play a one-off Test against England, three ODIs, and as many T20Is. The forthcoming series will begin with a single Test from June 16-19. It will be England's first red-ball match since the 2019 Ashes. On the other end, Team India will be playing their first game of the purest format since November 2014. All the games are planned to be played at Bristol, Taunton, and Worcester. All the players and support staff traveling to the UK will have to pass three RT-PCR tests before they can be allowed to depart.
