Indian pacer Deepak Chahar is all set to tie the knot with his fiance Jaya Bhardwaj on the 1st of June. He proposed to Jaya last year during an Indian T20 League match. Jaya, Deepak’s fiancee, is from Delhi and works at a corporate firm.

Deepak Chahar’s father, Lokendra Singh Chahar, later disclosed that Deepak had intended to propose to her fiancée for quite some time but decided to do it during the playoffs of the Indian T20 League 2021. However, at the suggestion of Chennai captain MS Dhoni, he planned the proposal during their last league encounter against Punjab.

The image of Deepak Chahar’s wedding invitation card with Jaya Bhardwaj has recently gone viral on social media. Although the couple or their family members have not made any official announcement, the news has spread like wildfire.

Meanwhile, Chahar was purchased by Chennai for a staggering amount of INR 14 crore at the Indian T20 League 2022 mega auction. He has been an integral part of the team. The right-arm bowler, though, was ruled out of the 15th edition of the Indian T20 League after suffering a back injury at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. He was at the NCA after suffering from a quadriceps injury during the third T20 against the West Indies in February.

The 29-year-old is expected to be out of action for the next two months. Chahar, however, has previously stated that he will return stronger. With the T20 World Cup scheduled for October-November of this year, Chahar is expected to do his best to recover as quickly as possible and clear all fitness tests in order to be a part of the squad and play for the national side.

Chahar has played 20 T20Is and seven ODIs for India, taking 26 and 10 wickets respectively. He has played 63 matches in the Indian T20 League, and taken 59 wickets at an average of 29.19. Besides, he has also taken two four-wicket hauls for Chennai.
