The high-octane ICC T20 World Cup 2021 is set to be held in Oman and the UAE from October 17. The groups were announced last month with ICC pitting arch-rivals India and Pakistan in the same group. They are joined by New Zealand, Afghanistan, and two more teams from the qualifiers set to be staged in Oman. The excitement reached its peak when the fans saw both the Asian rivals in the same group.

And now, if recent reports are to be believed, then the mouth-watering clash between India and Pakistan will take place on October 24. Although there is not an official confirmation yet, but a source in the know of developments has confirmed to ANI saying, “Yes, the arch-rivals will clash on October 24.” The full schedule will be announced by ICC soon.

Although India and Pakistan don’t often play against each other, the ICC event matches are sure set to make fans go crazy due to the history these two teams share. Over the years, India has beaten Pakistan in most of the ICC matches, but they will also be wary of the threat posed by the Men in Green in the shortest format.

With the second half of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) too scheduled in the UAE, the ICC decided to host a few qualifiers matches of the T20 World Cup 2021 in Oman. Six teams will battle and, among Papua New Guinea, Scotland and Bangladesh, Ireland, Namibia, Netherlands, Oman, and Sri Lanka only two teams will qualify for the next round.

The last time India and Pakistan met in the T20 World Cup in 2016, India beat Pakistan. The Men in the Green will look to settle scores this time.
