After dominating the first T20I match of the three-match series against England, India will look to win the second match as well. Birmingham's Edgbaston Stadium will host the second T20I match of India's tour of England on the 9th of July. The Rohit Sharma-led team has a 1-0 lead in the series, and they would want to seal the series in the next match itself. The hosts, on the other hand, will want to win the game and move the series to the decider.

Team Updates

India

India will have a lot of players returning to the team after missing out on the past few T20I matches. They will look forward to getting into the groove of the shortest format ahead of the all-important T20 World Cup. Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, and Ravindra Jadeja may make it back to the playing XI from the previous game. Deepak Hooda, Dinesh Karthik,  Arshdeep Singh, and Axar Patel will make way for them.

In the meantime, India had a dominant game with the ball. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Hardik Pandya were at the top of their game. However, their batting was below par. They would look to work on that in the next game. The addition of some of the senior players will help them a lot.

Probable Playing XI

Rohit Sharma (c), Ishan Kishan, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Harshal Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal

England

The Jos Buttler-led team had a humiliating batting performance in the last game. They were unable to form any significant partnerships during the game, causing their batting order to crumble. Eventually, they lost the match by 50 runs. They intend to improve their batting performance in the next encounter. Their bowling, on the other hand, was decent. Despite conceding runs, they were able to take regular wickets.

Despite the absence of several key players, England has a very formidable team. The team management may only make one change to their lineup for the upcoming match. Tymal Mills might be dropped, while Richard Gleeson could earn his England debut.

Probable Playing XI

Jason Roy, Jos Buttler (c&wk), Dawid Malan, Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Harry Brook, Sam Curran, Chris Jordan, Matt Parkinson, Reece Topley, Richard Gleeson

Pitch Report

The wicket at the Edgbaston Stadium is good for batting. The day game will also be an advantage for the batters. A high-scoring game is likely at this venue. As in the last game, the team that wins the toss will look to bat first.
