Star Afghanistan batting all-rounder Gulbadin Naib impressed the Indian off-spin great Ravichandran Ashwin with a blistering performance in the third and last T20I of the three-match series against India. Gulbadin Naib smashed two consecutive half-centuries in the second and third T20I against the hosts.
It was due to the 55-run knock played by Naib that Afghanistan ended up tying the third T20I against the men in blue, equaling their first-innings total of 212 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Naib scored these unbeaten 55 runs off just 23 balls, smashing 4 fours and 4 sixes with the bat.
Meanwhile, the veteran off-spin all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin heaped praise on Gulbadin Naib for his heroic efforts to help Afghanistan give a tough fight to Rohit Sharma’s India. In his tweet, Ashwin also targeted the IPL franchises, who went on to spend a huge amount of money on the Australian or English players, and ignored some talented players from Asia, especially the sub-continent region.
“Gulbadin Naib says “Notice me please, will you”?? I am a finisher from Asia with a base price of 50 L. Fantastic batting to get this game to a super over,” wrote Ashwin in a post from his official X handle (formerly Twitter).

Fantastic batting to get this game to a super over.
Talking about the nail-biting thriller between India and Afghanistan in the third and last T20I of the series; the hosts batted first after winning the toss and posted a big total of 212 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs courtesy of the brilliant century scored by skipper Rohit Sharma, alongside fiery half-century scored by young batter Rinku Singh.
While chasing the target, Afghanistan ended up reaching the same score, piling up 212 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs; eventually, the match ended up getting tied and entered the super-over to get the result.
The match got more thrilling when the super-over also ended tied and both teams had to play the second super-over for the result. Eventually, India won the second super over by 11 runs to seal the series by 3-0.
