The England tour of India will get underway with a four-match Test series, starting February 5. After the Test series, both sides will face each other in a 5-match T20 series and a 3-match ODI series. The first two Test matches will be played in the same venue, and the remaining two fixtures will be played at the Motera Stadium, in Ahmedabad.
Indian cricketers who can emerge as game-changers against England:
Virat Kohli
In the first test match against Australia, Virat Kohli scored knocks of 74 and 4 but couldn't avoid a defeat. Although he was not present for the remaining three test matches, the batsman is still a crucial figure for Team India. The 32-year-old is also ranked fourth in the ICC Men's Test Batting Rankings. Overall, the Indian captain has featured in 87 Test matches, scoring 7318 runs. He has also slammed 27 centuries, seven double hundreds, and 23 half-centuries.
Rishabh Pant
It would not be fair if Pant wasn't included in the playing XI after his stunning innings at the Gabba. Rishabh Pant became India's highest run-scorer with 274 runs at an average of 68.50. This includes two half-centuries, one of which during India's phenomenal draw. In the third test match, Rishabh Pant played a brilliant knock of 97 runs before getting dismissed by Nathan Lyon. The 23-year-old has featured in 16 Test matches and scored 1088 runs. He has also smashed two hundred and four half-centuries.
Jasprit Bumrah
India's fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah missed the fourth Test due to an injury. The 27-year-old finished the series with 11 wickets. Currently ranked 9th in the Test Bowling Rankings, Bumrah will now focus on the upcoming series in England. The pacer has featured in 17 Test matches and scalped 79 wickets. He also has five five-wicket hauls.
