The India vs England Test series marks India's first international sport since the emergence of the COVID-19 outbreak. Kohli had aggregated 655 runs in five Tests against England when they last visited in 2016-17. India won the series 4-0 win.

The Test series will be of great importance to both the side. It will actuate the second finalist of the ICC World Test Championship. In the on-going series, India will have to win 2-1 to fix their spot or better in the inaugural World Test Championship final against New Zealand. The ICC World Test Championship final will take place in England from June 18 to 22, with June 23 as the reserve day.

In a recent interview with Times of India, Tendulkar also stated that the forthcoming matches would be an intense battle between the top two countries. He also highlighted that both teams have momentum on their side, but ultimately chose Team India as the expected winners.

It will be challenging, but India will win Test series: Sachin Tendulkar

Considering the coronavirus outbreak, the Indian cricket board has decided to conduct the Test series in two venues. The first two matches will feature in Chennai. And the newly constructed Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the final two Tests. Many cricket pundits have predicted that the Indian team will seal the series and secure their WTC final spot. The main reason behind is their recent form and their historic win in Australia. Despite losing several crucial players, India recorded a remarkable 2-1 win in the 2020 Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
