India vs England: Three England players to watch out for

A 2-0 win against Sri Lanka in the recent Test series has undoubtedly put Joe Root and England in a good position for the upcoming series against India.

In 2012-13, England defeated (2-0) the Indian team in their home ground in a 4-match Test series. However, in their last visit to India, team England lost the 5-match Test series 0-4, in 2016.

Here are some of the England cricketers who could have decisive impact against India:

Joe Root

England skipper Joe Root will feature in his 100th Test match. The batsman played a crucial role in England’s victory against Sri Lanka recently. Root played some great knocks of 228 and 186. He has now 8249 runs scored in Test cricket, with 19 centuries, four double hundreds, and 49 fifties. Root is ranked fifth in the ICC Test Batting Rankings. The English cricketer made his Test debut precisely against India, in Nagpur, 2012. 

Ben Stokes

The number one all-rounder will be a key member for the upcoming series against India. Ben Stokes is one of the best players in all formats. He played 67 Test matches, scoring 4428 runs, with ten centuries, a double-century and 22 fifties. Stokes picked up 158 wickets in the purest format of the game. The 29-year-old will undoubtedly be a concern for the Indian bowlers. Stokes scored 345 runs in ten innings, with a century and a fifty. His records against India is outstanding as the southpaw scored 545 runs and averages 42.74. Stokes will make his return in the most extended format after recovering from an injury.

Jofra Archer

The Barbadian cricketer is currently one of the fastest bowlers in the world. This will be the first time Archer will play first-class cricket in India. He played 11 Test matches and picked up 38 wickets, with three five-wicket hauls.
