Star Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja missed the second Test of the five-match series against England due to a hamstring injury, which he sustained on the fourth day of the first Test. He had to visit the National Cricket Academy to recover from the injury. However, an official message is yet to come from the team management, including the coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma.

However, Jadeja is expected to make a return to India’s playing XI for the third Test, which is scheduled to be played at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. Meanwhile, one of the players from India’s playing XI of the second Test might have to sit on the bench if the veteran all-rounder comes in the final XI.

With said that, here we’ll have a look at the 3 players who can be replaced by Ravindra Jadeja in the playing XI of India for the third Test of the five-match series against England.

Jasprit Bumrah

The hero of India’s 106-run win in the second Test, Jasprit Bumrah might be rested by the team management considering his workload management. So, he could be replaced by Ravindra Jadeja to provide a spin-bowling all-round option for the side.

Apart from this, the star Hyderabad pacer Mohammed Siraj might be considered in the playing XI to replace Mukesh Kumar for the third Test in Rajkot; notably, Mukesh wasn’t very impressive with the ball in the second Test of the series against the visitors.

Mukesh Kumar

Besides the above equation, the management might consider Ravindra Jadeja as a replacement for the out-of-form Mukesh Kumar for the third Test. Mukesh could scalp only one wicket in the entire second Test in Vishakhapatnam. Jadeja could replace him in the playing XI of India in a very crucial match of the five-match Test series.

On the other hand, the Indian think tank is more likely to go ahead with Jasprit Bumrah in the third Test if the workload concern doesn’t come into the picture.

Kuldeep Yadav

The star wrist spinner was in brilliant form with the ball in the second Test of the series against England. He scalped three wickets in the first innings followed by one wicket in the second innings. He might be rested from India’s playing XI for the third Test against the visitors.

If management rests with Kuldeep Yadav then they could go ahead with Ravindra Jadeja in the setup for the Rajkot assignment.
